There were 11 Honorable wives of the Prophet (PBUH) throughout his life. He was 25 years old when he married Sayyida Khadija (R.A). Some people accuse the Holy Prophet (PBUH) of being hypersexual because he had eleven wives but they forget that he married the rest after the death of Sayyida Khadija (R.A). If you study the life history of the Prophet (PBUH), only two of his marriages one with Khadija (R.A), and the other, with Aisha (R.A) were marriages conducted in a normal course. All his other marriages were contracted as a necessity and were based on various considerations. There was a need to educate people to clear their misconceptions and highlight the importance and need of the wives of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and their benefit to this Ummah.
